Marv was hardly a goal scorer and he took a lovely pen at Wembley. Canβt conflate the two.
Those penalties were more a tell on where the squad is at mentally and the residual fragility. Itβs going to take a few windows to sort that out.

That Nordas second goal was a proper poacherβs instinct.
Iβm still of the mind that he needs to show more out of possession for JW but letβs hope he can do that because he gets goals.
Agreed on Nordas. I can sort of understand JWβs hesitation to play him as to date heβd offered nothing in the press, which tbf Wells does. But tonight his pressing was really good and lead to Nelsonβs goal.
Johnson finally looks like a man rather than a boy. His best game for me.
Exeter were awful but thatβs a solid win with a team of youngsters.
11/15 were U23.
9/15 were U21.
4/15 were teenagers, with two debutants.
Minutes for Alli, Andersen and goals for Morris, Nordas and Nelson too.
Overall, a very decent nightβs work.
Very, very good 45 min. Hard to tell the level given that this is very much Exeterβs B team (as itβs ours), but Nordas, Alli and Nelson all making a statement. Loving Nelson a little deeper too.
Walters looks lively again. Johnson looks like heβs been in the gym for the last 10 months.
Biggest detraction is his pressing, but thatβs looked a lot better tonight. Angles and timing of the runs are all a lot better.
But biggest thing for me is that he gets on the ball and makes the CBs make uncomfortable decisions.
He scores when he wants, he scores when he wants, Amazon Primeβs biggest customer, he scores when he wants.
02.12.2025 19:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Granted itβs the pizza paint cup but Nordas has been more involved in the opening 10 min of this game than Yates was in 95min on Saturday.

02.12.2025 18:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Speaks very well and seems like the right sort of character for Luton. Has been a breath of fresh air since coming into the side.
Would love to see him in the defensive center mid role to give Sav a break.

Weβre mentally more resilient (weβd have folded 1-0 down just a month ago). And weβre finding a way to get results. The underlying data shows that and a little patience, whilst notβ¦

Would we have stood a chance of a winner with five extra minutes? Maybe. We were definitely knocking and Bolton were leggy.

so letβs not expect him to do that. Nordas did do that but doesnβt offer what he needs to out of possession (which is why I think heβs out of favor). Could Gbode be that? Havenβt seen enough of him to say.
The subs were made too late. I think JW wanted to hold following the sending offβ¦
ineffective. I didnβt think weβd miss him this much but this squad is crying out for a Carlton Morris type. Yates & Wells go missing for long periods, whereas Carlton would always find a way to the ball. I was hoping AAH would be that but thatβs not happening any time soon. And itβs not Eliβs gameβ¦

Canβt knock the players for playing it safe given where weβre coming from, but sooner or later we need to start taking risks with passes and dribbles.

Our inability/unwillingness to hit the inside half channel early and often is costing us. I lost count of the times the ball was recycled to Bramall or Odoffin rather than hit that inside ball. We also got stuck in parts of the pitch where a simple turnout would have opened the pitch upβ¦
Having watched it back, we were a lot better than the general discourse had me believe. Save for the opening 10min to each half, we were the team in control and limited them to not very much. That said, the lack of creativity once again meant that the in-game control lead to very little actualβ¦

Kodua is scoring some big goals and really taking responsibility beyond his 21 years.
A few of the senior pros could take a look at this kid and step their game up.
Doom and gloomers will still be about and maybe somewhat understandably, but green shoots are showing. Bolton are the best team in the league right now and a draw when weβre not firing isnβt the worst.
Keeps us close to the top. Get reinforcements in Jan and letβs see what happens through May.
If you canβt win, donβt lose.
Couldnβt watch the game as Iβm stuck up a mountain for Thanksgiving weekend. Will watch it back tomorrow but it sounds like we were poor but found a way not to lose and that is at least something.
Thierry Henry talking about exactly this on Paramountβs Champions League coverage.
Seems like itβs not just a third tier issue.
Completely agree. And that all started from the front three pressing. Itβs what got us the winner and really helped our back line out.
The press was a hallmark of our successful teams over the last 10-15 years and so hopefully itβs something Jackβs reinstalling.
Not his worst game for us but definitely not his best. The flip-flops comment is so accurate, especially when heβs being run at and heβs jockeying. He canβt get his feet sorted. But he wasnβt alone. Saville, Odoffin, Walsh all couldnβt jockey a statue tonight.
25.11.2025 22:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0After their goal it definitely felt like he took hold of the game in a manner heβs not done before. Richards was the best player in the first half. Two exciting young prospects to build round.
They all certainly worked for it tonight though, so fair play to them after the debacle of Saturday.
We earned that. Not pretty but we showed guts to hold on.
More importantly, the first win of the league season where weβve conceded. Going on to get the win after being pegged back is an important psychological marker.
Letβs please, please, please build on this!
That is Luton Town football. Hustle, bustle and effort!
Bravo LFD
Stupid fucking foul to give away and then Keeley takes a needless gamble.
Architects of our own downfall again.
Can we PLEASE learn how to jockey players. Saville gives the guy 5 bloody yards to run into.
