Morning! So yesterday, a coworker of mine dropped off a letter from the School division's head office. It had an extra letter inside, and it took me a minute before realizing that it came from a fan in the states.

My contract as a teacher is ending tomorrow, with stretch pay until August, and still haven't gotten a bite with storyboard applications.

Yea I'm a Canadian citizen, had to move back from working in California on a TN in March 2024 due to the crumbling industry. I knew about the tax credit, I just wish it was easier for me to be able to move back to BC in order to qualify despite having ten years experience

Obvs. I know that there are plenty of talented artists, but I do see on many posts that they ask for you to be living in said province.

Like, give me a chance to get a job and then I'll move, I swear. Lmao moving back to Manitoba feels like it became a trap

no idea if anyone in my industry will see this, but does anyone from Canada know where I can find affordable classes of animation or illustrating or design? Because as much as I am dying to get back into storyboards, Canadian studios won't hire unless I'm in said province.

I'm sorry I haven't been active here. Teaching has completely drained my battery, and at the worst time too because I have so much debt to pay off.

I feel bad opening commissions after not even being active here for so long, but I'll probably be doing that soon. Maybe stream while I draw them.
