Unsolicited writing advice, no. #291 (b):
When I say "read your work aloud", I mean READ YOUR WORK ALOUD. Getting an app to do it for you isn't at all the same thing: it engages different parts of the brain, and you're more likely to be distracted. You wrote the book in your voice: read it that way.
