"Artists peak at 30", "30 under 30", "by 30 you should" ridiculous. Arts industries capital craves young people to exploit and burn out. It doesn't want older artists thriving and guiding the young. It also doesn't want artists to exist. Stop letting cannibals tell you you only matter on a plate.

in fact you do not have to show your ID when you board a train in the united states, you only need to show your ticket (which can be purchased without an ID)

Of all the easy things you can do to help the environment, conserve water for communities not corporations, not perpetuate scams, support the labor and rights of creators... *not* using generative AI is the fucking easiest. You absolutely deserve to be shamed for using it for image and text creation

Transportation planning has an unfortunate history of caring more about "choice riders" (of e.g. public transit) than people who use it out of necessity. Non-choice riders are forced to use the system no matter how bad, so there's no rush to improve it. This is wrong, both morally and scientifically

For a lot of illustrators I would guess efficiency increases after a few weeks of being in csp would offset any time lost in adjusting.

Opinion | Mariame Kaba has given us an abolitionist playbook. Will America follow it? Mariame Kaba's new book “We Do This ‘Til We Free Us” is a pragmatic playbook for a world without walls.

"Body cameras are worse than useless." You're giving money to the system you want to shrink. "The cameras are turned on you, the citizen, not the cop." And the cops control all the footage.

Stop making excuses for why women always have to do that job and all the other grunt work while men get to sit back, have ideas, and assign tasks. If tasks in your org are gendered and esp if secretarial work like taking minutes is always assigned to women, you're being sexist as fuck. Stop.

Political cartoon showing farm laborer figure battling a dragon ridden by growers and conservatives, El Malcriado, ca. 1960s, El Taller Gráfico/Farmworker Press

I thought I remembered more mythical imagery in El Malcriado, but now the only one I can find is another dragon slaying political cartoon

"Capitalism loves innovation!"

Okay, so how about transforming the grid to deal with renewables? That's a whole new industry, lots of jobs.

"NOT LIKE THAT!"
