I got the chance to do updated artwork of the Gem Dragons for the new book: Dungeons & Dragons The Book of Dragons. I worked waaay too hard on these, I'm extremely proud of them.

Topaz dragon illustration design sheet I painted. I know the wings are going to take some adjusting to so bear these words in mind: it also has floating crystals; it’s a magic man.

Next in the Gem Dragon illustrations I did for Dungeons & Dragons The Book of Dragons is my favorite. You may have noticed the somewhat controversial design feature but instead of cowardly ‘fixing’ it, I leaned all the way in.

Junior Fish: Hey daddy look! That fish has legs! Father Fish: Great Neptune! Junior, avert your eyes! Panel 2: Fishest Gup stops to look at the two. His legs are still censored out with a black bar. Junior fish has turned away. Father: Have you no shame? How dare you strut around like that in PUBLIC! Gup: What? You mean with my legs? I don't exactly have another option. Panel 3: Gup has turned and is walking away from the two, legs still censored out. Father: Go away before you influence my son any further! It's not right! Gup: Fine, if you can't handle an independent gillboss, I'll leave. Panel 4: The Father fish and Junior fish turn to face eachother. Junior: So what was that about? Father: Listen, Junior, we don't approve of that lifestyle! It goes against nature!
