I only need one scene/situation firmly & clearly in mind to begin writing. But that includes understanding the character(s), who and where they are, and what they want in (at the very least) that particular moment. I can take that small thing and expand from there.

I'm an editor by trade & training, so that's the fastest part of the writing process for me. Drafting takes ages. But I do enjoy "excavating" the story. Because it feels like I'm uncovering it as I go. Still, researching is probably my favorite part. It's fun to learn stuff!

Amaurodios is a little afraid of everything (but his natural optimism and curiosity wins out).

Aspasia is not afraid of anything.

I'd want to hang out with Landis, probably (from THE SWITCHGRASS CROWN), though George and Owain (from FAEBOURNE) would also be a lot of fun. As would all the ghosts in THE GHOSTS OF MARSHLEY PARK.

There is one town at the very edge of the desert. It's called Tiya'Ong, which literally means "village at the end." The southern desert used to be a burial ground, and some of the people who live out that way still do the work of handling the dead.

I chose "Changers: The Great Divide" as my project because it's on a deadline! Release date is next July.

The southern desert in AElit is called Kaneldrios, the literal meaning of which is "no water dry." It basically is the word for "desert" in AElitian, but there is only one desert so the name and the place are synonymous.

I want to get at least a little bit of work done on a collaborative project I've agreed to... But, really, this month is about memorizing the lines for the play I'm in and continuing to get ARC readers for my forthcoming book.
