Can’t think of many that we didn’t give a chance to and regretted. Jake O’Brien. But he was well down the pecking order as we had plenty of depth at the time.

It does seem odd JRS hasn’t had much of a chance considering how short we are now.

It would be interesting to hear what happens to the #cpfc academy players that were released from Palace this summer.

I hope some of them sign deals and continue their development and careers.

I assumed that it was a story with a bit of creative freedom.

Esse has some work to do after annoying him against Liverpool. OG showed with Holding that he doesn’t tolerate any nonsense.

França has been injured so long that we don’t really know if there is still a decent player left. There was also the rumour about him not settling.

Ebiowei and Plange were cheap enough gambles.

França and Esse will be more painful financially if they don’t come off. I’m happy to give them more time and optimistically hopefully they’ll still come good.

Good point. The players were also split with some in the UK and some in America. Plus we had so many players away on international duty last year.

I'd imagine he's a more realistic target. I can't see us going after the other two as they will be too expensive. Doesn't really match our transfer strategy. Saying that, El Khannouss will still cost a bit.

I fear that this will end up an even bigger issue for #cpfc.

The majority of the summer spent fighting to get the Europa place back. Transfers in and out delayed. Glasner made it clear he wanted transfer business done earlier. I can't imagine any of this is convincing him to sign a new contract.

It’s a real shame he's ended up there. I’d have understood if he's gone somewhere where he's likely to play. Look at the way they treated Trevoh Chalobah.

Matt Woosnam suggested a
while back that it would be ‘millions’ we’d be looking at in compensation.

I wonder what we consider an appropriate fee. He didn't set the world alight at Sheffield United and wasn't always first choice there either. #cpfc

With 8 European clubs chasing him we should at least get a decent development fee from Chelsea. Although I'm sure they'll try and bend the rules somehow.
