It's perfectly executed high fantasy full of strong women main characters, racially diverse, and a rainbow of queer identities (lesbian, NB, trans, poly, bi...) presented without fuss.
About halfway through this incredible beast and being reminded of exactly why it was Priory of The Orange Tree that made me love books as an adult. And this is even better.
@samanthashannon.bsky.social, the author that you are!
#ADayofFallenNight #BookSky #ππ
Finished the first season of #BadSisters (Apple+). It's the ultimate "I support women's rights, but I also support women's wrongs." show and I'm a sucker for a good "sisters" story, especially involving an eldest sister who is always sacrificing for her siblings.
I just finished #DyingForSex. Full on sobbing. I'm always amazed by media where you know exactly how it's going to end and the ending still floors you.
Such a beautiful show.
I need y'all to hype this up for me. I loved Priory, but I feel like the part of my brain that can handle high fantasy world building has atrophied. #ADayOfFallenNight #Booksky ππ
I, unsurprisingly, do not have the same picture endurance as a professional model.
If you followed me Twitter, you know that I couldn't shut up about (amazing Brazilian lesbian webseries) #StupidWife since I discovered it.
I've been lucky enough to get to know one of the stars, Pri Buiar, and got to hang out with her in LA in May.
I'm saying.
Um hi, please don't "like" my posts if you are a Zionist. I don't want your approval. Genocide is bad. This isn't my "political" account, but I don't want people defending what Israel is doing interacting with me anywhere.
I finished #TheHuntingWives. Lol. Wtf. Omg. Lol.
Seriously though, I know we're all here for sapphic Brittany Snow, but why isn't anyone talking about the MVP of the whole show, Deputy Wanda Salazar?!?!
She's such a badass among terrible idiots.
The Hunting Wives is the absolute dumbest, trashiest thing i've seen in quite some time. i give it one million stars
My LA experience is complete, I just saw Chandra Wilson at LAX.
Just a super normal interaction with a "Christian" on Twitter.
I know I shouldn't go there, but I'm addicted to this specific brand of absurdity.
LA recommendations needed.
I'm going to be in LA for a couple of days next month. I won't have the time or energy to do much.
But is there anything cool I should check out in the Santa Monica area?
My idea of cool includes like ... A queer bookstore.
Recommendations wanted:
T-shirt brand with good quality/thick plain shirts. Like, where lighter colors aren't see through.
Recommendations wanted:
I love Converse Chucks but I'm old and broken and need to be able to wear my medical orthotics. Is there a line that is a bit deeper?
The classics I own are too shallow to wear my insoles.
TIA
Well ... I should not have watched #ThePitt 1x08. Not even a "wow good drama made me cry". Just straight agony. Cried so hard I puked, 100% would have skipped the whole show (which has been great) to not have watched that.
Watching #ThePitt and seeing a Doctor stick up for a patient being treated like crap for assumed "drug seeking" has me holding back tears.
I'm literally paused on this scene so I could come make a similar post. Also, I lol'd when she pulled out that book.
Y'all watch The Residence on Netflix (if you still have that overpriced steaming thing). It's so fun. Uzo Aduba is stellar as the oddball, genius detective.
#TheResidence
!!!
Sorry not sorry. I love incredible television (like the two episodes mentioned below). I even love kind of crappy television that let's you just not think.
I love TV. I wish networks would do a better by both audiences and their creatives.
I live in the windiest city in the country and today was crazy even for us. I'm one of many who have been without power all day and have no clue when it might be back.
Lol. And behind Charlotte's apparently.
Me trying to steal your wife.
@craftyfoxwaves.bsky.social do you ever check this?
Turns out that $10k for my plumbing issues might be optimistic and I might be fucked.
And Trump tanked the stock market so my retirement fund is also probably gone. Fuuu
The good: As long as I can keep my foot safe so nothing gets moved out of place while it heals, I won't need surgery. Yay.
The bad: Plumbing is going to be in the $10k area though. π©
Thanks for checking in! It was a mixed bag, ha. As long as I can keep my foot safe so nothing gets moved out of place while it heals, I won't need surgery. Yay.
Plumbing is going to be in the $10k area though. π©
Any queer female screenwriters out there? Looking to network & build a community for collaboration on projects. #scriptsky
