TL;DR:
Zorbium is a topical opioid sometimes used after neuters/spays. It can cause severe side effects in cats — seizures, vomiting, hypothermia, loss of appetite, and more.

Please don’t let your vet use it.
Ask for other pain control options.

My brother was never warned. No conversation. No chance to say no. He would’ve never agreed to this if he’d known. Please if your vet mentions Zorbium, ask questions.
There are safer alternatives.

They admitted it can last up to 7 days in a cat’s system. We had been told 3-4! They also claimed Felix’s reaction “wasn’t normal.”

But… online? There are countless posts and news warnings saying otherwise.

But when they saw he’d lost a full pound, was hypothermic, dehydrated, and couldn’t stand — they panicked and told us to rush him to emergency care. At VCA, the vet told us Felix’s clinic had already contacted the manufacturer of Zorbium.

On the 12th, Felix had a seizure and began vomiting. He’s now in critical care at a VCA under seizure watch and IV fluids.

When we took him back to the clinic that gave him Zorbium, they tried to say it “couldn’t possibly be the cause.”

Felix was neutered on Oct 9. He was given Zorbium, a topical opioid.
My brother wasn’t told about any side effects or risks.

Since that day, Felix stopped eating, couldn’t move normally, and turned into a shell of his happy, playful self.

Ugh. Just lost a friendship I’ve had since I was 9. It hurts. However, after going through her X account and seeing her offer up to be a body guard for Cadence Owen’s and Ben Shapiro and praise Charlie Kirk..I’m sick to my stomach. How did his death turn her to this? I’m literally so upset.
