Seems odd to concentrate so much power with Berta before he has won anything for us ... Shouldn't he earn that power first?

A few weeks ago, I dreamt we lost to Brighton away. It has caused me daily worry ever since. I need this dream not to come true. So, enough talk of rotation.
P.S. 'mist win' ... reminds me of Officer Crabtree on 'Allo 'Allo.

Absolutely this. If we don't get it over the line this season, it will be incendiary to who knows what. Previous seasons we could just 'go again', but everyone knows we can't simply go again next season. There is so much weight on the team/Mikel's shoulders.

When I had stopped beating my fists into my own face and saw 'But the flag is up', it was a) a blessed relief, and b) slightly embarrassing tip-toeing back downstairs to rejoin the family in front of the telly πŸ˜‚

The liveblog is saving my heart this season. It's a few seconds ahead of the stream, so I have the phone in my hand to prepare me for what's about to happen!
Backfired a bit today though ... Saw 'Goal Chelsea', yelped, slammed door, ran off upstairs! πŸ˜‚

We will just have to end that run, won't we?

Me too. Not just our bit, but the other bit too. Lovely stuff!

I definitely read (somewhere ... πŸ€”) that the advantage of finishing first was the 'home' dressing room, home end of the stadium etc. if we made it to the final. Not a massive advantage, but, marginal gains and all that!

27.02.2026 13:32 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Strangely though, we were told that winning the league phase would mean we would be the 'home' team if we got to the final. However, as we are in the blue half of the draw, we will be the away team, according to the official UEFA draw footage I've just watched ...

Also, the average temperature in Bodo in April (when we would play them) is above zero, so not the snow-covered conditions others have had to face. And, their season will have started, so they won't be as well-rested as usual. Bigger concern is that plastic pitch!

Blue shows odds tightening, red shows odds drifting.

Greens hot favourites and coming in, Labour outsiders of three and drifting out.

If you want to oppose Reform don't waste your vote on Labour.

I have to confess, after the high of Sunday night and into yesterday, today I needed more. So, on @gunnerblog.bsky.social's recommendation, I have been over to 'We are T*ttenham TV' to get some of that high-grade sh*t, and it was every bit as good as you said. Still haven't come down ...

I'm going to watch it today with the sound off and Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending playing in the background instead. See if that helps.

He's right. What are we gonna do when Chelsea visit us next Sunday? Sit there feeling anxious, or sing till our throats are sore and remind the players why they're doing it? Because this team needs its 12th man more than ever.

At last, some good news.

We need someone who can pick teammates up by the scruff of the neck and shout in their faces in situations like the other night. Not someone who can lead by example.

20.02.2026 12:06 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

However, I would like to keep Declan. He was the only one who showed any degree of fighting spirit last night - and, I think, isn't as susceptible to the mentality issues as others. I think the captaincy could be the making of him and the team. And I'd hate to see him play for anyone else.

19.02.2026 15:54 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I know what you mean about the squad and it has crossed my mind that we might need a major change of personnel if we don’t do it this year.

19.02.2026 14:33 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It’s like playing with ten men.

I think it will take a big trophy win (PL or UCL) to remove the mentality shackles. But we seem to be in a vicious circle of not having the mentality to do just that.

That's my big worry this season - the potential loss of players we love. E.g. Saliba -currently the most valuable centre back in the world. If he ends the season with 'nothing in his pockets', might he go to Madrid to try for a trophy (new contract or not?) Will Rice renew his contract?

I've hated that word and the way it is bandied around by jealous fans of rival clubs. But tonight, it was the most apt description of what happened on the pitch. Dictionary definition of bottling.
