Lieutenant William Calley was convicted of war crimes in the killing of 22 civilians in Vietnam, in the March 16, 1968 My Lai massacre, where more than 500 civilians were killed. His sentence was commuted 3 days later by Pres. Richard Nixon. He served only 3 years under house arrest.

I haven't found a number on how many were executed after the boat was torpedoed, but the total number of crew members on the Greek ship Peleus that day was logged at 35. I count around 16 on this picture of the lifeboat. That's almost half.

I would bet that Stephen Miller is just as dark and evil. He just hasn't had a chance to prove it yet.

Of course, but 9-11 shocked the collective psyche of this nation. It left us like a wounded animal, lashing out at anything we saw. I resolved to stand behind Bush when he stood up on the rubble of the twin towers. Then he made a hard right turn and went after Iraq. We knew that was wrong.

That was the impetus that destroyed the middle class and created a class of "working poor!" That set the stage for civil unrest, and allowed politicians to create boogeymen. But, we still had a society that had never experienced the horrors of war till 9-11-2001. That left America deeply scarred too
