Every 'weekend' I make plans to find somewhere in the city to meet people and try to make friends.
The few (2) times I've worked up the courage to go out to places I'm too scared to talk to anyone and end up going home really soon.

Some people smile like they've read about happiness in books.

I love it when that happens. I love it when someone finds some piece of media or creative work that really resonates with them on a deep and personal level, and as soon as they dig into the person who created it, they find someone they look up to on a level they didn’t know they would before. Don’t get it twisted: I’m not talking about the kind of hero worship that’s so common in American politics and pop culture. I mean seeing another human being for who they are, as much as you can, not just through the lens of the work they produced that matters to you, but continuing to perceive them through reading more of their work, reading their own words and commentary, reading interviews and stories about them from people who knew them, and so on. To truly be seen and considered, and, hopefully, remembered. Isn’t that what we all want?

I know I talk about my newsletter a lot, but hey, I'm just trying to build something new and survive out here like so many other creatives, so forgive me.

There is a lot of text and I'm very tired but the lowest rates are USPS First Class is $49.25 retail - $46.33 discounted. UPS World Wide Expedited $307.91 retail - $44.86 discounted. An 85% discount just to compete with US Postal Service which would be solvent if not for the changes of the previous postmaster general AND the GOP led congress requiring the Postal Service to Pre-fund FUTURE pensions of its workers out something ridiculous like 50 years or something.

I use a shipping service and to compete with USPS as part of that service look how much UPS has to "discount" rates from retail for international.

They discovered that small fragments of the coronavirus's genetic material can remain deep behind the nose, in an area called the epipharynx, for at least six months after infection. These viral remnants irritate the immune system and may cause fatigue, coughing, dizziness, and "brain fog." The researchers used an old Japanese treatment called epipharyngeal abrasive therapy (EAT), where the area is swabbed once a week with a cotton swab dipped in 1% zinc chloride solution. After three months, the patients showed: - significantly fewer viral remnants - lower levels of inflammatory substances - noticeably reduced symptoms The treatment appears to both remove the lingering virus and calm the inflammation. A larger clinical trial is now underway in Japan to confirm the results. This discovery could lead to more targeted treatments that address the root cause of long COVID symptoms instead of merely managing them."

Good news: Japanese researchers may have found an explanation for long Covid and a possible treatment for it.
