Christine Darden is an aerospace engineer whose research at NASA advanced supersonic flight.
Darden joined the NASA Langley Research Center in 1967 and is one of the women featured in the book Hidden Figures. She was the first African American woman at NASA Langley to be promoted to the top management rank of Senior Executive Service. In 2019, Darden was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, the oldest and joint-highest civilian award in the United States.

Kimberly Bryant is an engineer and the founder of Black Girls Code. When her daughter became interested in programming, Bryant realized that there were few courses available for girls of color and wanted to change that. In 2011, Bryant founded Black Girls Code, a non-profit organization focused on educating girls of color in the fields of technology and computer programming.
Through Black Girls Code, Bryant has helped introduce young students to computer science, empowering thousands of girls of color in STEM.
