ICE Is Getting Unprecedented Access to Medicaid Data A new agreement viewed by WIRED gives ICE direct access to a federal database containing sensitive medical data on tens of millions of Americans, with the goal of locating immigrants.

ICE officials will be receiving access to the personal data of nearly 80 million people on Medicaid in order to acquire "information concerning the identification and location of aliens in the United States,” according to an agreement viewed by WIRED.

🚨 This is Horrifying ‼️

These Alleged ICE agents showed up at this families home & when they asked them to ID themselves they started breaking down the door & smashing the windows!

They had their weapons out ready to shoot in front of young kids.

This ended up being the wrong address‼️

On this Fourth of July, the 249th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence from tyranny, let us reflect on what the acts of tyranny they experienced then and the acts we experience now.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

This is a sad day for folks in the United States. Mourn as needed, but don't set up camp and stay there.

Senate debate on the budget reconciliation bill:

R: poor people should front money for services and get a rebate later
D: poor people should get a coupon to reduce prices for services

R: trickle down economic
D: grass roots stimuli

R: fears terrorism
D: fears death from lack of support services

Dems points:

- high national debt is one of the greatest threats to national security

- the bill would eliminate spending curtailments and tax breaks (Dem initiated) that have been slowing the national debt growth

- families and children will suffer from having losing medical and other care

- Reps say the bill is needed because Biden's overspending and the bill would reduce the national debt (failed to acknowledge the bill's own language saying it would increase the national debt by 3.3 trillion and the national debt ceiling by 5 trillion)

Other Rep points:

- the border must be secured because Biden took down the wall (not true)

- the bill is needed to extend a tax cut that would help working families (the tax cut is for corporations, not working people)

Reps confirm the bill would require folks to work a minimum of 20 hours per week to receive low-income benefits.

Reps also say, if you have kids, then bring them to work with you.

Reps acknowledge this is a historic and unprecedented bill, but claims it is needed to use public money in a more effective manner.

Dems quote the most recent versions of the bills, which would increase the national debt ceiling by 5 trillion dollars.

Dems argue that this bill is supposed to be a "budget reconciliation" bill, so moving money around to address changes in the budget. The outcome should be no increase to the budget.

But the Reps are stuffing this bill with pork that would inflate that national debt by 3.3 trillion.

There's currently a break in the reading to address a point and order. The Reps denied the request. Dems have one hour to debate the issue.

- someone else did the math: the bill would make ICE (by itself) the 7th largest military (by budget) in the world

- if you are arrested by ICE (correctly or not), you must pay $5,000. No waiver or reductions.

The administration is trying to make immigration a cash cow. Oh, and each of these fees are a minimum; they increase annually in response to inflation and DHS can set higher fees as it sees fit

- fee to apply for suspension of deportation is $600. No waivers or reductions.

- fee to cancel removal of a lawful, permanent residence is $600, no waivers or reductions. You read that right. If you're lawfully in the US and you get wrongfully picked up for removal, you still have to pay to stay!

- fee to appeal any immigration decision is $900. No waiver or reductions.

- fee to apply to adjust immigration status is $1,500. No waivers or reductions.

- Fee for renewal of asylum applications or appeals is $275 each. No waiver or reductions.

Note: all of these fees are in addition to each other

- any non-citizen must pay a fee to apply to work in the US. The fee must be at least $550 & it may not be waived or reduced.

- any non-citizen that wants to change job or renew their job, must pay a minimum of $550 for each job change & at least once per year. The fee may not be waived or reduced.

- only people who are wealthy can immigrate to the US

- anyone who seeks refugee status must pay a fee to apply. The (I missed the amount) fee may not we waived or reduced.
