This happened to me many years ago. Worked a temp job. Didn’t get paid. The state kept threatening the employer with stern sounding demands. Yup, never got paid. Learned an important lesson though.

Which is exactly why we didn’t do an Airbnb or any other brand of short time rental. A local person has some housing in our/their own community.
You’re right, which is exactly why we chose not to create another Airbnb rental. When I first started out as an adult I was lucky to have several landlords that provided good rentals for a decent price. I know it is hard to find places like that these days. It was one way to “make a difference”.
We live in an area where there’s lots of Airbnb. When we built we started with a tiny place so we would have a place to live while I built. Now I rent to a local person. We have a nice neighbor. Not sure I agree with your landlord statement. We take care of a lot that he doesn’t have to.

So glad to see you’re back. Your disappearance was all too ominous after having lost close friends, living in other states, who stopped posting on social media. That was how I would find out that they had passed. Welcome back!

Great Sand Dunes National Monument has lots of fulgurites. You can sometimes find them yourself while walking around on the dunes.
