system shock 2 has two skills named repair and maintain. one of them is the most important skills in the game, and one of them is completely useless and only gets more useless as you level the objectively correct skill. both of them fix items. this is perfectly fine.

i've suffered so much from just treating myself like i'm nothing when i'm not. i used to be a proud, arrogant lil nerd as a kid and i want her back, i'd be that 1000x over than the beaten down sad thing i became.

i owe it to the people who believe in me and have my back to be the person they see me as and that is generally not a terrified, self-loathing wreck

i am a capable and talented deer!! i'm smart as hell and i can be really funny!! there's no sense in me putting myself down when i'm honestly great

idk how big of a change it'll be or how 'forced' it's going to sound but i am pretty much done with self deprecating for the sake of humor and playing up the whole loathsome miserycore piece of shit persona thing for cheap laughs at, fundamentally, the expense of me and things i enjoy

i have been not a fan of myself recently and i am generally weird and sad so i'm taking steps to fix that
