The GOP Is Doing Damage Control After Cutting Medicaid — And It's Getting Weird “We are increasing Medicaid expenditures by $200 billion,” Rep. Rob Bresnahan (R-Pa.) falsely said of Trump’s tax law, which will strip health care from millions.

The Republican line is quickly becoming “we didn’t cut Medicaid because raw Medicaid spending still increases” — but if you adjust for inflation and population growth, that’s not true.

That’s why more than 10 million people are going to lose their health insurance from the law.

The Supreme Court’s “shadow docket” has cast very different shadows depending on which party holds the White House.

When lower courts blocked Trump admin policies, SCOTUS intervened on an emergency basis to lift those orders in 77% of cases.

For the Biden administration, that number was 0%.
