Reform’s Richard Tice avoided nearly £600,000 in tax The deputy leader’s property company paid nothing in corporation tax on multimillion-pound profits for most of 2018-21

Complex ‘highly aggressive’ tax structure avoids £600,000 tax for Reform deputy Richard Tice bit.ly/4cNFkrc “Voters should be reassured to have a successful businessman who knows how to make money for shareholders” he responds. He is one of the shareholders.

Tice sitting grinning in front of Reform merch football style shirt for losers with number 29 on it and his quote that he’s “just a good businessman”
Ugh

He’s “just a good businessman”. Not contributing to the national pot and then moaning his moneyed arse off about public services.
Reform’s real motive for power: a race to the bottom for wild profiteering for people like Tice. There’s less than nothing in it for anyone else. Just cost. And regret.

REFUK claims the civil service is "not up to the necessary standard". No. They wnt to politicise the neutral glue which holds government together. Cummings showed how dangerous it is to try and compromise that glue.

You're right. No one seemed to realise (or were prepared to acknowledge) back in 2016 that Thatcher had negotiated an amazing deal for the UK ... the Remain campaign was a total dud.

So, this sort of thing discredits governments and further reduces the humanity in political leadership. Thinking through the unintended consequences (incl the heartache and anguish of the 'victims') should be a govt imperative. Citizenship & community vs consumerism - trust over dehumanisation.

After the constant sleaze of the Tories, it was important that Starmer appeared ethically clean as a whistle. Unfortunately, he has not managed that, and it is now blowing back at him. A shame, really. He'll survive, but - like winter fuel et al - he's damaged goods.

Where's OfCom when you need them? - it's a bit like the BBC prioritising the REFUK voice over other, better-represented parties: wrong and misleading.

Nigel Farage regrets running 'bankrupt' Worcestershire Council The Reform UK leader says he wishes the party

“Farage has said he wishes the party "hadn't bothered" to take minority control of Worcestershire County Council, because of its financial problems”

V much summing up his approach to power.
Grifting and gobshiting - yes please.
Hard work and responsibility - god no.

We are a nation of 349M, yet one man decided to launch our nation into a reckless, illegal war without congressional authorization or counsel or the support of the American people. He didn’t think he had any duty to sell it or serve the people’s interests. This is why despotic rule is so dangerous.

Reform voters… be warned.

Politicians who promise you prejudice will always make sure you pay for it.

Britain's absence of serious statesmen - people who put citizenship above consumerism and demonstrate genuine interest in the less fortunate - is staggering, angering and deeply worrying.

Not-for-profit is insufficient: organisations which support our health and social care system should be not-for-dividend. The distinction is important because the latter enables all surplus to remain in the sector rather than being moved into shareholder coffers.

What an utter moron. The negotiations were, apparently, on the cusp of achieving an acceptable arrangement. But, because this would not have suited Israel's agenda, bombing was the chosen approach.

I agree with this sentiment and add: wasn't this also true for Gaza? and Syria? - We weren't very active in backing the population during the days of the Israeli bombardment and war crimes. Consistency would be nice.

Well, yes and: we've flogged off our infrastructure (Thatcher / Major), outsourced food supplies and defence and lack leadership that has a long-term focus. Solutions: aggressively invest in renewables, rebuild UK farming and buy back our power / water / telecoms infrastructure. We need #resilience!

... which demonstrates the UK's basic lack of resilience (a result of Thatcher / Major infrastructure sell-offs, general political short-termism and our lack of true statesmanship). We've outsourced food supplies and defence. Time to bring things home and work more closely with Europe. #Leadership!

Occasionally I decide to listen to Supertramp's "Crisis? - What Crisis!" album and once again realise that it truly is a thing of beauty and talent. I'm transported to another place when I listen to it - chapeau!

Britain's absence of serious statesmen - people who put citizenship above consumerism and demonstrate genuine interest in the less fortunate - is staggering, angering and deeply worrying. And #Tice demonstrates this to the max.
