I know that realistically she won't ever be well enough to go to the Midnight Service again...and I know that I would be looking back with regret if I had ever made her miss out by accepting her offer to stay in 🥹

So every year I would get ready and go...and in the end, I always quite enjoyed it. The old church, the carols, the choir, the candles - it was all very Home Alone.
This year I'm looking back and I'm grateful for all the years that I drove my mum to the service.

There were many years when I wasn't really up for going to the midnight Christmas Eve service. It was cold outside and the telly was decent. My mum would say it was up to me, that she would be happy to stay in if I wanted to, but I knew she wanted to go.

This evening I'm watching films which aren't Christmasy, but have feel-good festive vibes - I've just finished Joyful Noise and I'm now starting Muriel's Wedding ☺️

It’s snowing! That came out of nowhere, I wasn’t even wearing a coat this time last week 🥶 ⛄️
