i bring this up not to doompost or discourage people from commenting but more to say you gotta actually pay attention to what you're commenting on and what is actually being proposed. you are still better putting your Civic Duty toward calling your reps about the larger issue of censorship.

if you read their press release about it you'll see they already stopped 'encouraging' it in june, this is about making it part of their rules officially.

by all means you can comment saying you want them to outright prohibit it. i've commented myself. but that's just not what this proposal is.

the bank thing asking for comments is not 'the federal board will prohibit banks from using reputational risk' it's 'the federal board will not encourage/order banks to use reputational risk'

it's not a prohibition on the banks doing it. it's 'we won't make you do it'.
