there's no actual neolibs in British politics, which is a shame because they are right about some things!
nobody wants to hear it but price signals are useful. it's bad that Donald Trump declared war on iran, but it's real and has consequences. oil prices go up, so we can afford less of it and have to cut back. trying to prevent this just means spreading the pain elsewhere with less information.
nobody is allowed to pay market price for anything, and you cannot explain markets to voters. refusal to explain this and pretend it is about greed means voters will blame the govt in 2 weeks when your fake policies don't change things.
keep turning over this labour mayor post. think pandemic massively accelerated a post-modern atmosphere where we have a throughly developed market economy but next to no-one believes in the fundamentals underpinning it anymore. in the absence of an alternative framework, dysfunction can only deepen.
Might write a handwringing piece about whether the radical leftism of young men might be bad for economic growth, partly to make a change from all the pieces about their supposed right-wing radicalisation and partly because it would actually have more basis. (It would still be a dumb piece, I know).
it should be more widely known that you cannot win in the long term in sport betting. if you win a few times in a row they restrict your account. if they are letting you bet, they think you're a chump
a unified theory of Donald Trump’s actions
mixed feelings on it here, but at least it evolved with some degree of regulatory arms race. in America it's very harmful, and what's worse the marks love being scammed and vote against anyone trying to stop them being scammed
sports gambling in the states was the columbian exchange for the 21st century. highly addictive product released on a naive population, with no regulatory system around it to protect consumers.
Watching Politico get told they're sanewashing shit by the guy they're sanewashing is just excellent. Media cooked. Getting dunked on by the people they're protecting. We are in the post-dignity era of the press.

putting Winston Churchill on a banknote was a mistake, because it inevitably led to removing Winston Churchill from a banknote 10 years later
realised last night that I could only name two of the people on banknotes. wonder how many the average brit can name.
it's really funny that Theresa May's sole political legacy is the little bit on websites saying "owning slaves? bad, in our opinion"
This is a cross party statement in solidarity with @greenpartyhan.bsky.social after what happened this weekend.
Thanks to all the LGBT and Feminist organisations within all the respective parties for signing this, and it was amazing working with you all.
(I didn't go, I'm too self hating. I went to see Franz Ferdinand in Brixton instead. a normal gig full of normal people who also hate the labour party)
I'm hearing rumours that some audience members went up 2-3 cup sizes tonight. praise Allah!
The thing is, when Winston Churchill was put on the £5 note, the sharper knives in the drawer would have realised that this was part of an ongoing process which meant that one day Winston Churchill would be taken off the £5 note.
yes, lots of change in all parties. I remember when theresa mays tories were allies. sad!
zack polanski is speaking at the trans rights benefit gig at Wembley tonight. no other party has been as supportive during a terrifying time for trans voters. I hope he hypnotises everyone in the audience into having either bigger or smaller boobs depending on preference.
1. A new NHS England Review excluded 97% of all trans care studies to conclude that trans youth care doesn't work.
It explicitly violates several guidelines around reviewing literature, and appears to be politics masquerading as (shoddy) science.

Apparently at least 25 WIs have now closed as a result of threats by “gender critical feminists”.
GCs do not represent (cis)women.
I hear you're a sectarian now kemi
I can't believe the woke islamists in Gorton have got to kemi too
That's gardening.
an opportunity for kemi to lock down all 12 of the warmongering hero voters
God, has it only been two days of “how dare you suggest that my artform no longer has mass appeal. My heavily subsidised concert had a full house of 55-65 year olds and I earn as much as €26k some years”? It’s felt longer.
cannot stress enough that "separate the art from the artist" was meant for private individuals reconciling the art they love with its flawed creators and not meant for the ceo of a company driving a dump truck of money up to a bigot's front porch

I know I’ve got some Labour local gov’t types following me, so I want to say this clearly so that you can share it internally as appropriate: I will never again vote Labour while these policies, or Wes Streeting, are in place. I will not vote Labour at any level because of this.
Right! Back in my day, we met at a bar. Before anyone bought anyone a drink, we first exchanged social security numbers so the bartender could provide us with a complete background check---a service bars used to provide. After the background check, we used the bar's payphone to call references
