3 years, much has changed.
I'm waiting for Rebelle 8 to come out so I can utilize the new engine for the new painting on streams. Currently using Rebelle 7 to do underpainting.

Very excited for Rebelle 8!

🎉IT IS LIVE🎉
Full 1st volume of Sunshine Through the Willow Tree is free to read on my website (link in bio or below) along with all of the practice chapters that came before.
It is available in both Eng and Trad.Chinese 繁體中文, depending on the selected site language.
It's really hard to combat depression from social media. I'm glad I got into comic way later on life. I feel like I'd give up so much faster had I been younger and less mature coping with the negativity I feel from posting on these platforms.

02.07.2025 20:09 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yeees. I'm honestly glad I got into making the comic when I'm older. I feel like I would've been far more easily discouraged had I been younger.
30.06.2025 06:01 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Aw I'm glad you've found it back! It's not an easy path to walk at all and I'm not sure how long I can last. But at the end of the day, it's better to have given it a go than not. 🙏
28.06.2025 05:51 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0SFX in Eng has been an experience. Huge thanks to my editor for the help, my community for feedback, and my friend Jasko for gathering a bunch of manga translation samples for me to reference.

Sunshine Through the Willow Tree will be available to read soon, estimating early July! 🌤️ Stay tuned.
I'm honored omg 🥹
24.06.2025 08:41 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Haha honestly it was never a question for me. I grew up with manga, so there was only ever one option, even if color is definitely more popular now if you aren't Japanese 😂
Thank you so much! <3
Done with paneling the second book. 204 pages, not too far off the estimate.
Still on schedule to start the second book in early-mid July 🥳

I think it's hilarious how this was intended to be just a sketch... then I decided to just ROLL WITH IT.

Your work is just so stunning and hauntingly beautiful!!
16.06.2025 16:42 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Funny how some scenes written a year or 2 ago, I'd think they were must-haves. Then when I draw it out, it feels out of place and gets crossed out completely 😅
(the red parts were all of the changes made)
That's it for now! Hopefully that explains my odd process 😂
Before I start drawing pages of a scene, I also review the paneling choices of the sequence and rework it as needed.
Every stage hopefully improves the story a little bit.
(/con.)
Drawing them out gives me new ideas, and shows me where I can add personality and worldbuilding details
without being overly expository.
Paneling serves as an editing process on top of editing the scripts themselves.
(/con.)
A large portion of my story has been structured and written fully. I've written up to Act09, and the 1st book only covers up to the beginning of Act02.
While I visualize these scripts, I often need to shrink, expand or even rewrite an entire scene.
(/con.)
Paneling the book at once allows me to visualize the pacing and knowing how many pages a scene needs. It lets me spot repetitive details and flow of action.
I'd then compile these thumbnails in CSP EX in book form, so I can read through it all before I begin.
(/con.)
150 pages paneled for the 2nd book in my manhua Sunshine Through the Willow Tree! ☺️
Many people seem curious why I panel a whole book first: Since I have no pressure from publisher, I do what I think is best for my story.
(/con.)
How stunning!!
12.06.2025 01:15 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Before working on the first book of Sunshine Through The Willow Tree, I spent half a year making practice chapters in alternative universe.
6 chapters were created, totaling 124 pages.
(My series is read from right to left)
They will be available to read for free soon! Stay tuned 🥳
When your friend sends you flowers to congratulate you on finishing the first volume of your comic and the florist thinks you're pregnant. 😂😂
Honestly it's so cute and it really made my day 💝💐
