Writing wise? Just get some writing done. I haven't written in a while and if I'm going to finish draft one I need to get some writing done. Let's say two to three chapters.

Sam tells so many stories about herself that aren't even remotely true.
Mitali doesn't really tell any stories about himself. He'd rather avoid talking about all the things that happened to him.
I don't have any specific stories that they say about themselves to share.

Oops. I did spend some time looking if my pen name was available or not before taking it. It's not like my book is even really in a stage to consider names, it was just a passing thought, but I really liked it.

This suit seems to represent the humans in my story.
"The Suit of Swords Tarot card meanings are associated with action, change, force, power, oppression, ambition, courage and conflict."
That definitely describes the humans well.

#FantasyIndiesFebruary // Day 2
My current WIP doesn't really have romance. It focuses on other kinds of love. Friendship and family especially.
That said, some of the characters do end up getting together later on in the series and getting LIs.

I don't think there's actually a particular day Sam would want to do over. Loads goes wrong for her, but it all kind of leads to something important happening anyway.

Mitali would definitely want to do over the day that his friend died in the war. Even though it clearly wasn't his fault (he was a child), he deeply blames himself for her death.

Home. When was the last time I heard that word? For the longest time, we had been living both everywhere and nowhere, always on the move. It was mostly abandoned buildings damaged from the war that we deemed safe enough to stay in, but sometimes we'd sleep in our truck when we ran out of options. It's not like I was complaining. We were lucky. Still, I couldn't help but miss the warm feeling of our old home. It wasn't really about the house, but about everything that happened inside the house. As soon as you entered it, you were met with a positive, warm feeling, and it was as if it was telling you, "You'll always be safe here." I remembered watching TV with my parents on that old couch, snuggling in between them, under a soft blanket. I remembered the smell of garlic and chilis from Dad's cooking. Board game nights with my parents and Kavish. Hugging Mom when she finally came back from work. The goodnight stories, the constant chatter, and the laughs. That was perfect. I had already made up my mind. The house in the village wasn't going to be home. Nothing ever would be. The only way I could go home again was if I could go back in time seven years ago.
Bonus: Snippet of Mitali reflecting on home.

She doesn't feel at home in that world.
Sam's never felt at home. She's convinced she never will.
Mitali's grieving the loss of his home. He's convinced he'll never have one again.
Together, maybe they can feel at home again. One day.

Mitali's very set on believing he will never ever be home again.
And, since I do have two MCs, let's talk a little about Sam too. She's never felt "at home". She's had a roof over her head as long as she can remember, but home? Nope. She's half-sylvan in a world that shuns her.
π§΅3/5
But really, when he thinks about home, he mainly thinks of his parents that he lost in the war.
Chapter one (which, by the way, is literally called "Home") starts with Kavish, Mitali's older brother, promising him a new home in the village.
π§΅2/5
How he wants to go back in time, seven years ago, to before the war took away his home. When he thinks about home, he does think about his physical place, for sure. The war left him and his brother without a roof over their heads.

I got so excited when I saw this question. Home is such a big part of Mitali's story, and a big theme in the book overall.
This is going to be a long one.
When the story starts, Mitali is actively grieving losing his home. He thinks about it all the time.
π§΅2/2
Hard work? Perseverance? Yeah, that's definitely them.
PS: I'll take this opportunity to learn more about tarot, because one of my important characters is actually really into it!

Okay, so I don't know much about tarot, but here goes.
I think, judging from the description, this represents Kavish and his brother Mitali a lot. They don't really have time to think about things that aren't material. Every day is about surviving for them, working...
