I'm a teacher, Computing lead and NCCE trainer, F1 fan, poor player of many stringed instruments, vinyl person and into everything edtech.
And a longer career than Stewart, Hunt, Hill, Villeneuve and (almost) Hakkinen
25.01.2025 21:56 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The number of times drivers have had next to no penalty for speeding under yellows - way too harsh. Last 10 seconds stop/go I can remember is Vettel driving into Hamilton under the safety car.

5 empty plastic wallets
12 Lego lanyards
12 highlighters from a CPD session I ran
A half drunk bottle of apple juice
4 unreadable post it notes
A garlic chopper
3 books I've been meaning to put back in my cupboard
2 jelly babies (unpackaged and gooey)
26p in plastic tender
Risc OS in an Acorn lab at school! We had a highly choreographed way of turning them on so the network and printer would work at the same time

My method of assessing new productivity tools:
1. Does it do what I want?
2. Can I play with it for long enough to put off doing the work related thing I need to do?
Unrelated to this... Does anyone know of a good seating plan tool? #edtech #EduSky
Earlier this year I was lucky to receive lots of Lego coding equipment from the institute of physics as part of a grant scheme. Once I can get the software working on Chromebooks, it could be a great bridge between Beebots and Crumbles!
22.11.2024 16:25 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'm just going to share a little bit of love for @diffitapp.bsky.social . In the sea of AI, it saves so much time planning the little fiddly bits of reading lessons meaning I can focus more on the deeper stuff
22.11.2024 00:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've only used it with the primary phase but it's worked well; I don't know how well it might cope with the added complexity you see at high-school level. In terms of accessibility for different ages, the only limit is the teacher's ability to adapt the prompts to give responses of a certain level

My first day here on BlueSky & Iโm thrilled to share something really exciting weโve been working on!

Mizou has been fantastic for engaging children in a topic, giving them the chance to ask questions and develop their own threads of interest

20.11.2024 21:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I never expected Timmy Mallet to be as much of an inspiration to me at 36 as he was when I was 5, but his cycling videos are one of the very few things keeping me on Facebook

19.11.2024 20:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Book people... I'm looking for computing themed books that could be used within whole class reading sessions in KS1 and KS2. I've got the little people big lives ones but any other ideas would be gratefully received!
