There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all
There is a business fetish with efficiency - often chasing it as if efficiency alone was a magical power.
This ignores that efficiency is a 2nd order solution.
Effectiveness is the 1st.
If you break effectiveness by chasing efficiency you've lost what's most important
How exactly is writing/understanding and and expanding requirements and test cases, or understand and improving User Experience not "Developing Applications"???
Those aren't just "supportive tasks"
Those as part of the job of understanding the context and making sure you are delivering value
