Just as with passive/exonerative voice ("...were killed" or "...was hit") grammar can shut or open of agency. Using helpless grammar carves out a helpless path in your mind. Try the conditional tense today to support yourself & others in *altering the conditions.*
Periodic reminder from your least favorite English teacher to take it easy on the future tense statements! Doom is conditional, and modifiers like "I'm worried that" or "It would suck if" or "If X doesn't do Y" were invented for times like these.
