There’s no sound system at Smalls, so it’s hard to hear the bass clarinet, but I love playing it there anyway.
Ellington‘s “In a mellow tone.” Interesting how my main horn, the bass clarinet, elicits qualitatively idiosyncratic improvisational gestures.
