Yes, wonderful machines. I have my grandmother’s 98 year old machine. Many are unwanted. They just need some cleaning and oil.

Light pink twill youth apron size small. Kangaroo pocket divided into two with a vertical stitch through the center. Along the bottom is a ruffle in a floral printed fabric with yellow, pink, and lavender flowers.

Light pink twill youth apron size small. On the top half “girl power” with some daisies around it is embroidered. A kangaroo pocket that has five pink daisies embroidered on it is set at the center front at the waist. Along the bottom is a ruffle in a plaid printed fabric with yellow, pink, lime green, and blue lines.

On the back left side of the apron just above the ruffle is an embroidered pink daisy with a yellow center. It was put there to hide a hole in the fabric.

I haven’t posted anything here in a while. Here’s what I’ve been doing this past week.

It probably needs a good bit of machine oil to its moving parts to unfreeze it. I have purchased old machines and usually a good oiling unfreezes them. Then a good internal cleaning. It will be useful once you get it fixed.

You’ll love it. Get an old sheet and cut some pieces or some fabric scraps to run it to test and adjust the tension. I recommend using a different color for each tension disk.

A child-sized apron with crisscrossing straps. It’s made from light pink 100% cotton twill. It has a 2-compartment patch pocket placed just below the waist center front. On the front above the waist is an embroidery design of Hello Kitty wearing oven mitts as she holds a pie. Below it there is a line that reads, “Let’s bake!”

A closer look at the embroidery design. It’s embroidered with various shades of pink 100% cotton embroidery thread. She’s wearing oven mitts and a bakers hat. Hello Kitty is wearing a pink bow in front of her left ear. The design is stitched in all satin stitches.

Finished this child-sized apron for a friend’s great granddaughter. It’s a size large being displayed on a size small dress form so that’s why it looks big. I searched high and low for this light pink 100% cotton twill fabric. I used 100% cotton embroidery thread for the embroidery design.

The light pink twill fabric is wrong side up. I have marked several 2 inch wide strips along the bias of the fabric. Almost ready to cut them out.

Some bias strips of the light pink twill fabric have been cut out and are shown with right side up placed across the remaining fabric that still needs to be cut. This pink color is so pretty.

Time to make some bias strips out of the new light pink twill fabric.
