Yep. Perfect Spy on Prime
Oooh
We went on to do all of Smileys People and are now halfway through A Perfect Spy. We have gone old skool TV Le Carre MAD
(15 mins later the man offered me the leftover chips he couldn't finish π)
Yes, when I went to see The Brutalist there was a moment when, during a holocaust scene on screen, I had to pass a burger and chips from the waiter in the aisle to the man seated next to me. I did slightly feel cinema might have gone a bit wrong.
I do think this statement from him is so fabulously Fainting Couch it almost makes me like him again
Just listened to the audiobook of this and it is fantastic. If you like rock n roll, London in the early 70s, squalor, squats, booze, parties, failure, and fights, all described with a kind of machine gun bravado, you will love this. It is a HOOT. www.penguin.co.uk/books/430204...
Hejira is really really good
haha yes
of course
Passed a man earlier with a really quite fed up look on his face, wearing a T shirt that said, in bold capitals, MAKE LOVE YOUR GOAL. In many ways we are all that man.

At the end I was just saying inside my head, "Don't die, don't die"
Yes
I went with no expectations at all, thinking "Oh I bet I've seen all this before", and I was blown away. I'm always so struck by the utter strangeness of Elvis. So much going on all at once - masculinity/femininity, power/powerlessness, pain/joy, authenticity/fakery. God, his FACE.
The new Baz Luhrmann film of Elvis in Concert is amazing! Loads of footage I'd never seen, and great interview clips. And as always I'm so drawn into the grandeur of the Elvis story - the glory and tragedy, the utter pathos of the King who never travelled outside his realm. The sadness. That VOICE β€οΈ
I think that Followed You To The End has real Carrie vibes too
I think I dodged a bullet by not being in that video π
Hitchcock!
Same!
I liked that exhibition!
I went to see The Lady Vanishes today on the proper screen at the Regent St Cinema and it was SOOOO fun. I realised itβs basically a romcom with a cursory thriller plot. And so entertaining. Whole audience applauded as the credits rolled, which I love.
So sorry Moose, love to you and all your family x
Didnβt totally expect Martin Clunes to be the only good thing about Wuthering Heights π¬
Well Mackenzie Crook's Small Prophets is an absolute sheer delight isn't it. No one else does quite what he does. Magical and beautiful and hilarious all at once.
They never ever fail to make me cry. Utterly beautiful.
I said what I said
Rod Stewart is better than The Kinks *runs away*
Yes!
I agree. Wouldnβt trust that doctor with any aspect of my health, mental or physical.
