We pour billions into saving an economically tiny steel industry whilst actively destroying one of our largest export industries. (Yes, higher education to overseas students who already massively subsidise UK students, are counted as exports).

What's the notion of the pragmatic there? It would be kind of amazing if any contextual factor relevant to determining compositional semantic value were traceable to a parameter/variable in logical form. (Unclear how far the Stanley/Szabo type of view on quantifier domain restriction generalizes.)

I hope more people will come to a long overdue realization that academia dot edu is an utter crap company.

Finding new, more foolish, ways to make the future of the UK's higher education sector more perilous isn't easy, but somehow the head of the OfS has managed it. The decision to create that organisation was a disaster.
