LEAKED: A New List Reveals Top Websites Meta Is Scraping of Copyrighted Content to Train Its AI The tech giant is sidestepping guardrails that websites use to prevent being scraped, data show, in a move whistleblowers say is unethical and potentially illegal.

Long suspected, but now documented by @dropsitenews.com: Meta (& likely other major AI companies) are stealing HUGE amounts of copyrighted data to train their models.

This is primitive accumulation—theft of people's intellectual property on a massive scale.

Happily at work writing ancients scenarios today. What I love is finding an ancient source on a sizeable battle I’d simply not registered before and thinking there’s a great wargame in that. Then trying to work out if I can find other sources and clues to get a more complete picture of it.

That’s far worse. I’m very sorry to hear that. But you’re right. I’m sure half the reason we keep them, is because they’re beautiful.

To be honest, and as I said on the podcast, I’m sad about the collection we built and lost but fortunately they weren’t the figures and terrain we regularly play with. And a reduction (somehow…) of the pile of potential probably is a bit of a relief too. A better proportion feels good!

We are considering a reprise of Come and Have a go if you think you’re LARD enough on Saturday 24th Jan 2026 close to Southampton. Nothing is booked yet, and am aware the excellent Winter Wonder Lard in Bristol is only a fortnight after. Would there be any interest in that at this time?

It’s all a bit OD. It’s part of the reason I put lots of stowage on them and usually crew figures. Makes them a bit more interesting

We’ve been testing one scout section (M8/SL, jeep section with two jeeps and SL), one base of fire section with 60mm mortar and .30 cal, one ten-men section with JL. The US recce platoon has lots of options and firepower but few men, and apparently mostly worked dismounted when on the attack.

It’s not an easy platoon to play, that’s for sure

Yesterday I threw a US cavalry reconnaissance platoon against @redandloud.bsky.social's German Fallschirmjäger. It had a bit of a Picket's charge feel to it, including the ending.
