Pascals Wager: Covid edition. If I'm wrong, I've mildly disadvantaged myself by wearing a mask in public. If you're wrong, you have played a part in spreading disease, disability and death to millions, possibly including yourself and your loved ones.

Yes, that's what's killing us all. We all knew he was convicted on 34 charges FFS, but the Democrats needed to wait for processes to complete "to avoid seeming like it's political".
Bloody cowards.
He should have been in jail, not on the ballot

With Trump, it's reasonable to assume that every accusation is a confession, until proven otherwise.

It's got to the stage where I'm starting to wonder if we have to look at his birth certificate. ๐Ÿ˜œ

The Epstein case was still an open criminal investigation during the Biden administration. They had an open Grand July, and witnesses and victims were still coming forward.

This situation changed when the DoJ closed the case mid-2025.

This answer has been given many times, publicly.

I find the Hindustani Times are often among the first to report factually but negatively on Trump. Some things remain limited to social media and the Hindustani Times. Other things take a few days to reach mainstream media. The sacha riley tapes are reported as unverified. Take that as you will.

I agree. Our disappointment with Labor is that they're too much like the Liberals. They're not going to win us back by drifting closer to them.
My vote flips between Labor and Green depending on local issues, but Greens at least have a policy on these hard questions. Labor can easily win me back.

His death was not before 10:30 pm on the 9th, possibly before midnight, but we don't know that.

He was found unresponsive on the 10th, and his death was confirmed by medical examination soon afterwards. It says 10th on his death certificate.

Appropriate, because in British slang, to "trump" means to produce a loud fart.

This is actually a crime, to aim a gun at a person to intimidate.

Aggravated Assault with a gun involves an attack where a firearm is used or displayed with the intent to cause serious bodily harm or instill fear of imminent harm.

This is a very serious crime

I keep thinking about the conspiracy theories. "How many people are covering that up?"
We don't need the rumors of snuff films in order to act. The testimony of the survivors should be enough.

Certainly, we need to investigate and punish worse actions too, but the low hanging fruit is right there!

New Zealand is the least offensive country I can think of. If the Epstein files get worse, Trump is going to need the biggest distraction ever. It's either New Zealand or Disneyland.

As an Australian, I have nothing to add. You have your country, and no-one has easy fixes, particularly not from another continent.

I spend my social media time alternating between trying to understand your very complex system, being grateful for elements of mine, and grieving for your losses.

A deadly virus has been re-detected in India. Asian countries are taking no chances Two cases of the Nipah virus have been detected in India, prompting a raft of screening measures to be enacted in countries across Asia.

Nipah virus is mostly spread through contact with bodily fluids from pigs and bats. It spreads from person to person through close contact. It causes a flu-like illness that can lead to pneumonia. Encephalitis occurs in some cases and this complication is often fatal.

i am so shocked to hear Theo was arrested this week over satirical posts about the hate speech laws.

a couple of years ago he had a bomb placed on his car, targeted because of the palestinian flag outside his house. the perpetrator was never charged with terrorism.

Today we remember the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust, the millions of stories of individual bravery and heroism, and one of the enduring lessons of one of the darkest chapters in human history: that while humans create beautiful things and are full of compassion, we're also capable of unspeakable brutality. And we promise never again to go down the darkest path.
