Remember this next time anyone in the govt says they can’t afford to raise the rate.

Several hundred thousand Airbnbs sitting empty most of the time, entire homes, some of the biggest ones in any area also: dwellings that could be actual homes that are deleted from the available shelter to sit mostly empty and leave their bins out constantly.
Oof.. Cathy Wilcox has a go at deciphering the rules.
The ‘No Actual Consequences Commission’, by @fionakatauskas.bsky.social
"Fifteen cops to arrest one girl." An 18yo woman was arrested for wearing a singlet with a banned phrase. Another man was arrested for speaking the phrase outside Queensland parliament. Premier David Crisafulli's criminalisation of speech will now be tested in court. #qldpol
Grace Tame silenced from speaking events. She gave her final presentation for the year at the No to Violence national conference in Hobart.
Based on the last 24hrs, if she uttered the banned phrases in Queensland she would probably be arrested. #auspol www.abc.net.au/news/2026-03...
Who voted to cut science funding.. so that we could continue to give away 56% of the gas to exporters..?
The NACC has been an utter waste of public money. Its sole achievement so far is to further persuade everyone that consequence-free corruption and bastardry are fixed features of government in this country.
love how we killed the old, frail anti-nuke ayatollah just to have him replaced with his young, healthy son who wants nukes and who just had his father, mother, wife, and child murdered on the same day by his mortal enemy. surely this will bring peace to the region
Just watching an auction and cheering for the young couple buying a home winning against an investor. But they could have had a home for at least $200k less without the investor bidding it up. That's $200k that did not need to be pissed away except for our tax laws.
Can I just say what joy it brings me to hear a quiet, non diesel fume spewing, EV bus going past in Sydney. More please.
Had we had leadership that wasn't in fossil fuel pockets: could have had this decades ago.
I'll say this for AI, it has added some peaks upon peaks on top of the peak of inflated expectations. I guess there are people wanting to piss away a lot of money on data centres that the economics sure as shit won't work, so gotta hype it beyond anything before.
The idea that the entire spectrum of software systems won't need to exist because of LLM's surely is the most fucking stupid thing the hype cycle has coughed up on the carpet lately.
Like thinking databases went extinct because someone invented a UI or an API.. You can't AI-autocomplete everything.
Funding public schools properly is extremist compared to Lib/Lab.
Not kicking the shit out of peaceful protestors appears to be extremist compared to Lib/Lab.
Ending coal/gas as per the science: totally extreme!
We should be doing this in Australia. Time for the major parties to get in the bin with their corruption.
Australia: this is what you can do instead of backing racist fuckwombles.
Just shows just how bad Australian Labor is: refusing to tackle housing, climate, tax, education, unashamedly double-standardsing, letting it all fester as "blame the migrants" while banging on about "social cohesion". FFS
Apparently they are doing it to sell bottled water. Scooby doo nowhere to be found, might have drunk the water and went to the V.E.T.

Sounds like one of those crazy captain planet badguy masterplans..
1. Take over the water companies
2. Deliberately dump sewage into the waterways
3. ...?
4. Profit!
What's one word to describe Anthony Albanese? A difficult one..
"Meh"
"Spineless"
"Sellout"

Department tells the Ombudsman they've built an app to track some unlawful provider decisions - to try to get themselves out of trouble for not monitoring anything
So, the Ombudsman asks for information about this app. Department says: actually, we haven't finished building it yet

Oh and YouTube: giving people the ability to learn to fix stuff by watching videos.. avoiding things ending up in the tip.
Anything that lets people work from home: chat, video conferencing, virtual workforce stuff (I guess VPNs and such). Taking people out of car-dominated-commutes.
In terms of displacing flights: again, video conferencing. I think sales trips avoided, even visits to family are probably more spaced out
Stellar @chaser.com.au headline.

They'll do another "pull the ladder up after the wealthy boomers have milked it" like everything else.
Not doing your job if not. :)
The old "I'm sorry you were offended" backhander.
