So far BlueSky is OK, but I noticed I'm getting followed by (supposedly) women, with thousands of followers but no posts. I really hope BlueSky would have been able to weed out stuff like that.... ;(

I also think that comes from a different way of processing multiple information streams. I know that if I'm doing something that requires concentration, I can still quickly look at a text message, gather any important information, decide if it is urgent, or otherwise file it away to deal with later.

I remember when I first learned that younger folks absolutely don't like to be called - that I should text them, and if we needed to talk, we could set that up - a phone call feels like you 'have' to answer it, but a text can be either quickly replied to, or ignored for a while until it's convenient
