Yeeeeah, I remember having a full falling out with someone who was surface level trans supportive but the moment you pointing out f*tas being trans fetishization, he tried to completely gaslight me over it because he didn't want to stop getting his rocks off in the Balmung QS.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if things went that way. I haven't been there in a while and the last time I was there was to go RP with someone at their house and I didn't even hit up Ul'dah at all lmao

Yeah, I was on Balmung for about half a year when I started playing years ago. It had tourists, but with the open DC travel, it pretty quickly just became sex tourists from other DCs.

I subbed in as off-tank for a few weeks in P9S, even got a clear once. But I didn't get called in that often and never got together in a static for any other raids.

And I honestly don't have an answer to that? Most of the new people I've started RPing with over the past year or so have been those I've met on social media. Mostly Bsky tbh. You used to be able to pop into Mateus QS to find walk up RP, but it's become very... samey people as of late.

My theory is that enough of us queer folks are roleplayers and want something more than the low quality cyber goonbait that has become overly prevalent in the Balmung QS. Also, more likely to run into chasers there from my experience. With lower quality experiences overall.

Yeah we're all in different places. I'm glad you're in a space to explore that more fully! My journey is just taking a little longer.

I'm working towards it. These things do take time. I'm glad it seems like I've made the right sorts of friends this time around.

Thanks for coming to my talk as I dissect and unpack my shame and hesitancy. I'm not great at vulnerability, so thanks sleepy brain for making this possible.

I'll keep on working through my shit and eventually I'll do more horny posting that isn't progesterone-motivated.

I wasn't a perfect person by any means. I had issues. But they weren't what that person was saying about me.

So there's probably a fear of a repeat scenario in there somewhere too. And some internalized transphobia where I'm still perceiving myself as masc and therefore predatory by default.

I know that a little bit from firsthand experience, where I was ostracized from communities based on these kinds of perceptions. I made an enemy of someone willing to lie through his teeth repeatedly. And while I did eventually reclaim my reputation, it was not a quick or easy process.

Probably some of it also comes from being socialized and perceived as masc back then. And wanting to avoid being seen as predatory. (Regardless of the consent of those involved) Because that sort of rep would absolutely kill your RP potential.

Change of subject but I think I learned some sexual shame from prior RP communities where "having a harem" was a stigmatized label to have.

In hindsight it was puritanical garbage and/or jealousy. And I would like to be better. It's totally fine to smash your OC with someone(s) sexually. Hell yeah.

There's nothing quite like a friend insisting on Rue taking their OC's anal virginity in painful fashion, suggesting Rue continues to fuck them even after they pass out.
