They insisted that I take the job as an independent contractor (1099) - not a (W2) employee.
In other words they wanted me to say I didn’t work for them and that I am my own business liable for my taxes AND theirs.
Well F*$k that.
I got a job offer from a job that I really wanted at the rate that I wanted and their sleazy HR department ruined it.
