Can't get over this design. It was such a fun knit drafting up graphs and figuring out my stitch counts and such. Also, I'm getting better with knitting intarsia 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 🧶🧶

I felt it would be the perfect complement for the front of my sweater, protecting the Ikenga on the back. 🧿🧿🧶

I was searching for inspiration for the front of my sweater when I came across a post by a talented friend of mine that instantly resonated with me. I reached out to ask if I could knit the design, and he kindly agreed. Bringing this idea to life was such a joy!

I’m the Àdá of my family, but here’s a funny story—when I visited my village, everyone kept calling me Àdá, and I didn’t respond because I didn’t realize it was for me 🤣. That’s the day I learned what Àdá meant 🤣.

Knitting my thoughts into reality is a powerful expression of myself. I affirm who I am through it. This piece is a story of me in every way. Let's start with the sleeves.

I designed a unique knitted Ikenga featuring knitting needles on the left and a yarn ball on the right. The face of the Ikenga showcases an Nsibidi symbol for strength, blending culture with the art of knitting for a modern twist on this ancient symbol.
