The Claremont run is better than most commercial comics mainly because Claremont really liked writing it and cared about the art in it, rather than the norm, which is hating the work you’re doing and being indifferent to all aspects of production.
Eric Bowman. Those stylized clouds are so unexpected, the last thing you'd think to do. But their overlaps, solidity, shapes, and cast shadows make this so cool.
And the horse and rider keep it from just being an abstract...it's more or less a real space.
