I'm going to do occasional updates for what I'm working on going forward. I just think it's fun for everyone to see what my process is like behind the scenes. Here, I'm working on chapter seventeen! And as a reminder, chapter seven goes live in just a few days!

I write down the date, the words I wrote, the overall goal to stay on track for 50,000 words, what I worked on, the word count I started at, the word count I ended at, and the overall word total. And then it's just a matter of filling it out each day!

Now that I've written the first five days of the month's annual writing challenge, I figured I would give you all an update and a peek behind the scenes into how I track everything! I have a spreadsheet, and this is what it looks like!

CHAPTER SEVEN - THE TALE OF LENORE ARGYROS: PART ONE “Remorse in Remembrance” Lenore Argyros awakens in the side of a mountain with no memories of how she got there. She was buried within a coffin that marks the date of her death as ten years prior, a confusing revelation for a woman who is very much alive. Lenore stumbles her way down the mountain and into the nearby village of Stonepass Valley. There, she finds herself suspected of kidnapping townsfolk over the last few weeks. Lenore vows to get to the bottom of the mystery and clear their name, but in the process, they uncover a dark plot constructed by an unknown figure. The only trace of truth they can find is a single word: “Moonlight.” With no other clues as to their missing memories, Lenore leaves Stonepass Valley to learn more about “Moonlight” and how it ties in with the past they no longer remember.

Chapter seven will be releasing in a week! Get ready to meet Lenore on November 8th!

So starting in November, and then probably after that too, you guys will get a behind the scenes peek at what I'm working on for the series! The first draft of chapter 17 is next on the chopping block, so it's time for me to make some spreadsheets about it!

I love keeping track of my progress for writing NaNoWriMo in a spreadsheet. Technically, I'm not actually participating since I'm writing part of a book and not a book in itself, but I have the same goal of 50,000 words in a month on the book's progress.

With November fast approaching and NaNoWriMo coming up along with it, I've decided to do something new with showing off content for ARNWA. Starting in November, I'm going to give weekly updates talking about progress for the series!

CHAPTER SIX - THE TALE OF VEON OGMA: PART ONE “Punishment For Sorrow” Veon Ogma is the youngest member of the Castus Crusaders, a group of assassins from the dense woodlands of Freyoria’s eastern continent. Alongside the rest of his family, Veon has seen to the deaths of countless corrupt individuals. Since the downfall of their hometown, the Crusaders have wandered the world, seeking to execute those who they believe are abusing their power with the hope of killing the man responsible for their tragedy one day. When a mission goes wrong, Veon begins to doubt if the Crusaders’ path of vengeance is truly the right one to follow. His faith shaken, Veon decides it it time for him to choose his own path. He resolves to reunite with his scattered team and force them to atone for all of the sins they have committed in the last five years. With his faithful hunting partner, a kiwi bird named Pudding, by his side, Veon sets out on a journey for atonement.

With the arrival of October, it's time to prepare for another chapter! On October eighth, chapter six, "Punishment for Sorrow," will be releasing as we meet Veon properly!

Chapter five will be going live tonight, and we will officially be in the second half of the first book! Exciting things are coming!

CHAPTER FIVE - THE TALE OF RANA CELESTIA: PART ONE “Truth in Blood” Rana Celestia is the star of the world-renowned Abyss Hollow Academy. They are the youngest student to ever graduate from the magical studies program, and their research has put their entire family on the map. Rana feels as if they should be happy, but they simply are not, unable to shake off traces of burnout. Their parents have high expectations for them, and Rana feels as if they can never quite live up to them. When Rana learns of a plot to steal a valuable book from the academy’s archives, they sneak out to intercept the thieves. However, the battle reveals a few horrific truths about Rana’s life and their place at the Abyss Hollow Academy. In an attempt to create something new, they set out on a journey to learn the truth behind the theft… And ideally, find something to live for before their downward spiral kills them.

CHAPTER FOUR - THE TALE OF TATIANA OLWEN: PART ONE “Hidden Amid Flowers” Tatiana Olwen is the star performer of the Freyorian Bouquet, a traveling troupe of singers and dancers. The full release of book one will be happening in January of 2026, and book two will be starting in February with monthly installments. More information about book two will be coming as we get closer, but the draft is coming along very nicely so far!

Once the new year arrives, I will be publishing the full book in other places, including Amazon! I will also be preparing for a potential physical run of the first book. When I have more details about where to find the book, you all will hear about them first!

The next chapter of ARNWA, "Hidden Amid Flowers," will be releasing on August 8! After that, the remaining four chapters of book one will be releasing each month on the eighth until December when the final chapter comes out.

CHAPTER THREE - THE TALE OF RAPHAL HODOSHIMA: PART ONE “Greatness Waiting Beyond” Raphal Hodoshima has spent his entire life training to be an apothecary beneath his father, Hanael. The entire Hodoshima family has been apothecaries for generations, and Raphal is expected to continue the legacy. However, he has little passion for healing the sick, and his bitter disposition leaves him lonely. Raphal has almost given up on ever leaving behind his hometown of Sandsage… Until the daughter of the noble family ruling over the town falls sick with a deadly disease.
