POEM OF THE DAY The me The Carpenter, As a boy I had a passion for wood, its utility and use I understood. As an adult I carved my career, using various woods and strips of veneer. With pine, oak, hickory or maple, I could make any table strong and stable. For sport I'd make a cricket bat blade, I'd use willow, and all handmade. I made pews for the local church, I fashioned them out of solid birch. I chose cherry for the aisles and floor, and walnut was perfect for the entrance door. My old tool box was made from bamboo, eco friendly, strong and true. Now I'm retired with my chisels and things, I'm looking forward to what retirement brings.
