NH Libertarian Party seems to be just fine with threatening political violence on unhoused folks and anyone to their left. Not sure if they know that this is textbook authoritarianism...

I have a feeling it's not something OpenAI will appreciate all that much.

Discussing policy is not where we're at, reframing ideology is where we're at, and the left never gave a solid argument for why the libertarian logic was flawed. That needs to happen, and if dots are connected I think there's a way to run roughshod over both liberals and conservatives.
25.06.2025 17:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The national technique isn't going to map onto this state. That's just real. The left here needed to be unapologetically cutting when it came to ideologically burning the right. We never stole their techniques to use them, we never spent time genuinely arguing why they were wrong.
25.06.2025 17:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I get that a lot of the progressive scene got burnt out with the fight, but I think there's a serious element of people from that arena acting out of self preservation and parroting Bernie style politics rather than really being willing to set themselves aside and genuinely reclaim turf from the FSP
25.06.2025 17:11 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The idea of personal liberty and individualism doesn't exist in opposition to collective action - if anything they're kinda flip sides of the same coin. If you treat them like they're opposing values, both sides will end up failing.
25.06.2025 17:08 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Something I think about often is the meaning of the word "libertarian" and how it was appropriated by "classical liberals" when it was historically a socialist position - maybe this concept needs a genuine reframing to illustrate the gross hypocrisy and smooth brain ideology of FSP
25.06.2025 16:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm not one to believe that podcasting actually has an impact, but if it does serve as a means to genuinely motivate people to get involved in action, maybe there's some value?
25.06.2025 16:47 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0So the question is how to revitalize? I genuinely wonder if rebooting Locally Sourced in a more focused manner would help. It feels like without any kind of media that distills things it's hard to overcome the atomization. Without someone in your ear at work or in the car, etc. what keeps it going?

25.06.2025 15:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The progressive movement in NH is an absolute dead body rn. Feels like any motion that existed 4-6 years ago was just stomped out.

25.06.2025 14:40 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0FB ads were not enough to convert sentiment to votes, and without NHDP money the ad buys for TV were out of the question. The cost to fill a gas tank over and over for a handful of votes just didn't cut it. It's possible that now podcasting and online ads could move the needle, but that's a stretch
25.06.2025 14:38 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Marchand's primary campaign against Kelly in 20 reinforces this. I watched that crew drive up and down the state all day every day, and struggle to get word out to voters via traditional boots on the ground technique, but they didn't have enough people to execute the door knocking
25.06.2025 14:38 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1The most brutal part of reading Marx is that even while he's just confusing outright, he's also actively trying to bait you by making you more confused, so he has this massive flex when he does the big gotcha reveal.
Kudos for style points but fuck man, it's abstruse as hell.
