In the end, I've enjoyed all the comms I've done, but they're almost always stressful in a way fan art isn't.

For comms, there's pressure to perform at my peak, to get things om time and often have to do characters who don't play into my skills.

For fan art, no-one has any expectations, I can pick and choose, and I have the option to bail if its not fun. Plus surprising people is fun.

Art fight made me realise why I don't really like doing commissions.

I like making stuff for people and I love getting paid money, so i should enjoy it.

I think the difference is the pressure.

I highly recommend people bite the bullet and draw fanart for the artists they admire...it feels sooo good to be able to draw something for someone and see them light up about it 🥺💗
