We kicked off the workshop with our first invited talk by the incredible Rafael Prieto-Curiel, who shared insights from his work studying how cartels operate in Mexico, sparking lively discussion and great questions. A fantastic start, and more to come!
We then moved to our main venue, Santuari de Lluc, where on Monday participants began presenting and proposing their project ideas.
๐ The Winter Workshop has finally arrived! ๐
We kicked off the event with a wonderful social activity in Palma de Mallorca on Sunday, setting the tone for an exciting week ahead.
Thanks
Thanks to all our sponsors for their support in many ways: PLOS Complex Systems, Frontiers in Complex Systems, European Physical Journal (EPJ), and Ajuntament de Palma!
Thanks to the Sicomoro Foundation, the Complex Systems Society (CSS), and the Young Scholar Initiative (YSI) for providing studentships to support some of our participants!
A huge thank you to @ifisc.uib-csic.es and @uib.cat for being fundamental partners and supporting us since the very beginning of the event!
This edition wouldnโt be possible without the support of our amazing sponsors and partners
Thank you for helping us make it happen!
The discussion will be based on one of his recent articles, available here:

๐ค We are very happy to announce our closing event with an out-of-the-box session by Maxi San Miguel (IFISCโUIB)!
Heโll dive into the Frontiers of Complex Systems and then lead an interactive discussion with all participants. A perfect way to wrap up!
The countdown is on! Only 10 days to go until the Winter Workshop โฐ๏ธโ๏ธ
๐ค Excited to welcome Luis F Seoane (Institute for Evolutionary Biology, UPF Barcelona) as our next speaker! His research spans evolutionary dynamics, network theory, linguistics, and more, focusing on how complexity changes across scales.
We look forward to his insightful talk in Mallorca! โ๏ธ๐

Throwback to the incredible @wwcs.bsky.social !
#WWCS2025
Last week I co-organized the Winter Workshop on Complex Systems, in the snowy mountains. Even though I was only physically present for a part of it, the atmosphere was amazing from the first moment. Huge thanks to my co-organizers, the speakers and all the participants! Until next time! #WWCS2025
All the training I did to be ready for @wwcs.bsky.social was worth it!
@piratepeel.bsky.social
It was a pleasure to have Stefania at our venue: we had a great conversation regarding the connection between science and policy making. Thank you for that!
This morning, a pirate took control of the workshop! ๐ดโโ ๏ธ Leto Peel, navigated us through The Broken Links of Network Science with sharp insights and plenty of thought-provoking ideas. Thank you, Captain Leto, for guiding us to the treasure of network science! ๐
