Spooktober Game no. 5: Varney Lake

Short but sweet Vampire visual novel (or how the devs call it "pixel-pulp") reminiscent of old 80s horror. Beautiful to look at and doesn't overstay its welcome. It isn't particularly thrilling but a nice mystery read for 2 hrs.

I need a place to gather my gaming experiences for 2025 so here it goes!

I went with a guide at some point to experience the story only. Recommending Ghost Trick really depends on how much you're into puzzlers but it surely is entertaining and you can't go wrong with grabbing it on sale if you want a short palate cleanser. 2|2

Spooktober Game no. 4: Ghost Trick

Brilliant characters, good story - I love Shu Takumi's over the top writing (y'all need to play Ace Attorney!) but: I didn't like the gameplay at all. I know this is the heart of the game but since I'm not a big puzzle fan to begin with, 1|2

Missile ist wirklich super. Hätte mir nur gewünscht, sie lassen den englischen Namen. Wurde einfach mit Rakete übersetzt und klingt im Lesefluss so dermaßen beschissen 💀

War ja auch absoluter bullshit, was sie mit der Story fabriziert haben. Ich warte noch, bis es mal unter 20€ fällt.

If you're a niche/mostly #Indie gamer AND focusing most of the time on your backlog instead of keeping up with the new releases, it's so hard to find your tribe. Everyone's playing all the big Ghosts, Metal Gears and Silent Hills while I'm just vibing through my (sometimes obscure) Indieverse.

Spooktober Game no. 3: Love, Ghostie

Rolled credits and I'm in love. This game is PERFECT for these rainy Fall evenings if you want a bit of spooky but cozy. The humorous writing made me smile the whole time I was playing and the artstyle is SO cute. Very well done @janbehchanbeh.bsky.social 😍

It's sooo incredibly lovely and I already matched 3 couples I thought that are vibing really good, but I wanna try so many wild combinations, do awkward dates and send more scam mails. I'm fully invested 🤣

Kann man sich geben, wenn man mal wieder Lust auf eine coming of age/emo-teen-musik-Story hat aber ist jetzt mMn kein must read.

Nobody dies a virgin war, glaube ich, meine erste Light Novel und ich hab nun gemerkt, dass das so gar nix für mich ist. Die Story ist recht emotional aber der Lesefluss holprig, die Übersetzung liest sich merkwürdig und es sind einige Fehler enthalten, was das Leseerlebnis insgesamt echt schmälert.
