This is not "asking a question" - you're out here showing your entire ass when this isn't even a debate (see: bedroom eyes Nala) you're handing ammunition to the same people that will gladly come for you.
You're lower down the shit list, dude, but you are on the shit list for that WG on your feed.
The scenes at the campground and in the bunker were chilling.
I know it got brushed off as a "walking simulator" but Everybody's Gone To The Rapture did really stick with me.
This potential draft is going to disproportionately affect American Indians, & AGAIN we are the community no one talks about when new policy like this gets tossed around. Once again, OUR communities are going to get torn apart by this. It is going to be hardest for us to fight back against.
Honestly I think it's this precise vibe that drives my fixation on the mechsplo genera - I love feeling dangerous while also being unflaggingly loyal to the right people.
I, too, have a degree and a dog bowl I use for a lot of things.
I'd melt, tbh.
Yeah - I love the overall design though the dialogue has some really bad moments, my main criticism is that the show doesn't really like, explore its' main premise at all.
BDSM is only ever depicted in the context of trauma - it distresses Angel but he does it because he either has to or it's all he knows.
It's always uncomfortable or a joke, never a legitimate form of interaction two individuals might choose to undergo.
The second thing -
The show is DEEPLY kinkshamey whether it realizes it or not.
with the lord and nobody ever really pushes back on sensible bases - always "getting right won't matter" not "actually I'm perfectly happy in this kink dungeon"
But, yes the show is constantly preachy. The only way into heaven is through sobriety and chastity and self-sacrifice. It's an extremely narrow christian view of what "goodness" is.
Not to mention, the main character is going around telling everyone they need to upset their whole life to get right
According to the demons we see, redemption is either assumed to be possible and desirable or totally impossible; we never see anyone saying "Sure, you can, but those fucks don't deserve me"
It doesn't feel right to me, the world is lacking a critical component.
that has been a source of terror and pain for their entire afterlife?"
Like, sure, you've got some folks who make good and go to heaven. But where are the people who scream their defiance? Tell heaven to fuck itself for presuming to have a spot for someone they so callously condemned.
"YOU HAVE TO GET RIGHT WITH JESUS IMMEDIATELY"
The show constantly beats the drum that Heaven is Good - never really stopping to explain why, just leaning on an assumed christian worldview.
The show never really stops and asks itself "Wait, why would people be so quick to join with a tyranny
Two full seasons in and I think the show is saying a lot of stuff it doesn't mean to say. Granted, this could be my own raised catholic trans self reacting to unintended confluences of symbolism.
But I could never kick the feeling that the show was constantly telling the audience
Both of which are a recipe for getting labeled "difficult" for having the temerity to stand up for yourself for basic shit. Some of the tracks are real bangers albeit MUCH too short.
Season 2 was an improvement in leaps and bounds over season 1, the team clearly found their pace.
AND -
FIRST THING: I am honestly happy it's getting made, it's clearly a passion project and it's abundantly clear that the team loves doing what they're doing. And I don't buy for a second most of the rumors about Vivzie - She's A) a woman and B) has heritage in central america.
Okay so I'm doing my Hazbin Hotel thoughts thread - I'm a furry and a friend of mine was gracious enough to stream both seasons of it, so I was doubly obligated to interact with the series.
The show has its' good qualities but it has the ethics of a theater kid who goes to church three times a week and always tells the pride organizers to "tone it down for the families"
There's just some dissonance that a work that has so much furry DNA in it is so scared of people even getting tied up.
Yeah, it was Hazbin Hotel that got me thinkin' this (a friend sat me down through both seasons) - Kink is only ever presented in the context of abuse, whereas the good guys are /implied/ to have banged at some point in a very sort of soft focus vanilla "uwu isn't this cute" sorta way.
Always nice to see other fans of Pyre! Feels like a forgotten classic sometimes.
You ever think about how many media properties make it clear that sex is something only bad people do? I don't think they mean to, but once you notice how sex negative our society is it's hard not to feel a little nuts.
I can see it
Fullblown shower is for the weekend when you have time at home, if it needs to be quick that's what the dust bath is for.
The old addage "Don't make things for an audience, make art for AT MOST five perverts" continues to be true
donβt forget to destroy your clocks tonight, walk away from your mortgage, just start driving, youβre free
