🌋 La Réunion update
A few hours ago, a lava flow from Piton de la Fournaise crossed the RN2 coastal road. This kind of event hasn’t occurred since 2007.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as lava continues to advance towards the ocean.

🌋 ETNA – Volcanic Activity Update (Mar 4, 2026)
At 12:12 UTC, surveillance cameras recorded an impulsive explosion from Bocca Nuova crater, producing an ash plume that drifted eastward and dispersed within minutes. No significant ground deformation detected.

Thrilled to share highlights from the annual assembly of AIV in Rome 🎓
During the event, we proudly awarded the prizes for Best MSc Thesis to Giada Alfonsi and Best PhD Thesis to Nicolò Nardini.
Congratulations to both for their outstanding research and contributions—well deserved recognition! 👏
🌋 Eruption ongoing at the #PitondelaFournaise (La Réunion).
Yesterday part of an old cinder cone collapsed, triggering a small pyroclastic flow. The cause was probably the interaction between lava and subsurface water.

Episode 42 of Kilauea, consisting of nearly 10 hours of fountaining from 2 vents, ended last night at 11:38 pm HST. According to #USGS episode 43 might be 2-3 weeks away…Stay tuned! 🌋❤️
Between Feb 7th and 10th, >100 low-magnitude, low-frequency earthquakes have been detected west of Teide (Tenerife) at 10–12 km depth, linked to fluid movement. No gas or ground deformation have been observed. INVOLCAN communicated that there is no increased eruption risk in the short/medium term
#Stromboli, you look stunning tonight! 🌋😍🌅

#Etna update
#INGV has communicated that the effusive activity continues feeding several lava flows from an eruptive fissure located at ca. 2100 m a.s.l. The most advanced flow has now reached 1360 m a.s.l. down the Valle del Bove

#Etna update 🌋
#INGV reported that a new eruptive vent has opened near Mt. Simone at ~2,100 m a.s.l., feeding a lava flow down the Valle del Bove. The most advanced front has reached 1,500–1,400 m a.s.l.
INGV teams are currently on site monitoring the flow’s evolution.

🌋 This afternoon, the NE crater produced vigorous lava fountain activity, reaching heights of up to 400 m, followed by the development of an eruptive column rising several kilometers into the atmosphere.

Merry Christmas from Etna! 🌋🎄
Strombolian activity is ongoing at the Northeast Crater, with glowing ejecta and a small plume drifting NE. Minor ashfall in Piano Provenzana and Taormina.

🔥🌋 Kīlauea went wild yesterday!
Multiple vents opened inside Halemaʻumaʻu, creating giant fountains-some shooting over 300 m into the air-and an ash-and-gas plume towering over the crater. One of the webcams even got taken out by the heat.

#Stromboli update — 13 Nov
A new lava overflow from the North Crater Area is sending a small flow down the upper Sciara del Fuoco. Steady spattering continues from two vents in the north, along with ongoing explosive activity from the Southern Crater Area.
