Not all littoralis look 'summery' in summer and a few petrosus look somewhat 'littoralisy' in summer....Body moult seems to take about 3-4 weeks but can result in the same looking but fresher plumage.

I saw one 370km inland in PNG a few years ago, on the Fly River near Kiunga. Same area has had records of Sooty Terns in the past.
