Played some RE9. I am absolutely loving it. However, I think you need some kind of future space age super computer to run it with path tracing enabled. Still, even with regular ray tracing it looks absolutely incredible.

Besides that, YouTube is a fantastic way to get the content up in a place that is easy to share and people have a decent chance of seeing it outside of your circle.

Down to read it. I originally considered just writing everything as well, but eventually realized the best way to get all of the information I wanted across was the video essay format. It's a lot of work, but I used nothing but free software and was super happy I decided to do it.

The different endings matter a lot too. One in particular, imo, is the most selfless and encouraging. While another focuses heavily on James's grief and I think mischaracterizes Mary intentionally due to spoilery details.

I think the game is subtle about how it handles Mary. I've never had a terminal illness, but I think they do a really fantastic job depicting someone who is dying and showing their struggles and attempts to find peace before the end. Listening to the entire hallway speech is harrowing.

I'm not acknowledging President's Day again until we have a president worth respecting.

It's not ideal, I'd prefer some cheaper games as well. A lot of AA games from like Focus or whatever do cost somewhere in the $40 ‐ 60 range and I think they're having a pretty decent amount of success. Focus has been becoming a bigger publisher every year.

Hell, maybe some won't accept it, but don't even lower the prices. $70 and $80 games, but smaller and more focused. Bring back the 8 hour campaign, even, if you must. Don't take over the indie space, reclaim the AA space. More experiments, more variety, more diversity of investment.

I think this is the solution for individual developers/publishers to remain a more stable business model. Yes, indie games with a negligible marketing budget won't fix anything. But if every game you make is a massive gamble that could sink your company if it fails, that's bad business.
