Why the hell is there an ai chatbot in firefox? Why is it on by default? Why is the option to disable it buried in such a weird place?

It would be great if, on the other side of All This a steady majority of Americans will have learned some basic lessons, one of which is that voting is you being on the hiring committee. Hire the people you want working for you, try to not hire the people you don't want working for you.

For too many people like this Christian AI dude, I think that zero-point is much farther in the past than some would like. It speaks to a fear of what is inside many of us to place that zero point of goodness very recently.

The witch-burners weren't suddenly there, nor the inquisitors, slavers, or residential schoolers. There's a tendency in reporting to presuppose some recent zero point of goodness (because the reporter didn't know otherwise?) and that therefore the move being reported on is a sharp pivot. +

If we do, it's not coming to my mind either, but I'm inclined to think any breakdown is more an unleashing / intensification / disequilibrium — an algae bloom. Part of what I'm resisting is what I'm seeing as an implication of suddenness. +
