there’s a dead cat in the alley behind my house :( it’s not one i recognize which is a relief i guess but it does have a collar on which breaks my heart. poor baby.
and i’m sure 311 is more equipped for the volume of calls and i don’t want to just stress out one or a pair of receptionists at animal control but it’s still frustrating.
an annoying thing locally is that if you have to call animal control , for example if there’s a dead animal in the alley behind your house, they don’t have a direct line? you have to call 311 and put in a request. it drives me nuts. no shade to the operator, i do just wanna talk to an AC officer tho

and yes the implication that we’ve never changed the filter in the 20 months we have lived here is correct.
the conclusion is that we accidentally must’ve bumped something on the furnace bc it’s in the same room as our laundry machines anyway so the handyman came over yesterday evening and clicked like 2 things into place and the heat immediately kicked on 🫥
